Anna Bengtsson is the Executive Director of the Smart Business Resource Center in Redding , CA . She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, is a Certified Workforce Development Professional and a California Accredited Consultant. Anna leads an award winning team of thirty dedicated professionals and has been employed in the field of workforce development for twenty years.

Venture Island , which starts in Redding in August, is a three-month competition geared to identify and add value to the best and most innovative companies in the region. At this networking event for entrepreneurs, executives and investors, contestants will be instructed and guided by the most established business owners in the North State . There will be challenges, coaching and training, and peer-to-peer mentoring that will culminate with the naming of an overall winner - even audience members can vote for their favorites. To compete, entrepreneurs must be located and plan to remain in the region, have scalable growth potential beyond the North State and have gross annual revenues of less than 1M per year.
